# 1Password

Connects Kotharo to 1Password for secrets. [All adapters](https://kotharo.com/docs/adapters/)

## What you need

- The `op` command, from [1Password CLI](https://www.1password.dev/cli/get-started/).
- The `jq` command, from [jq](https://jqlang.org/download/).

## Connect

`/kotharo:setup` finds 1Password and takes you through these steps. To connect it by hand:

Install 1Password CLI. [Its install page](https://www.1password.dev/cli/get-started/) covers other systems.

macOS:

```
brew install 1password-cli
```

Windows, in Git Bash:

```
winget install 1password-cli
```

Linux:

```
sudo apt update && sudo apt install 1password-cli
```

Install jq. [Its install page](https://jqlang.org/download/) covers other systems.

macOS:

```
brew install jq
```

Windows, in Git Bash:

```
winget install jqlang.jq
```

Linux:

```
sudo apt-get install jq
```

## Sign in

In the 1Password app, turn on Settings > Developer > Integrate with 1Password CLI, then approve the first op command when the app asks. Without the app, run op signin.

To check you are signed in, run `op whoami`.
