# Google Chat

Connects Kotharo to Google Chat for chat. [All adapters](https://kotharo.com/docs/adapters/)

## What you need

- An MCP server for Google Chat, connected in Claude Code.

## Connect

`/kotharo:setup` finds Google Chat and takes you through these steps. To connect it by hand:

Set up a Google Cloud OAuth client by Google's guide (https://developers.google.com/workspace/chat/api/guides/configure-mcp-server) with http://localhost:3119/callback as a redirect URI. Its client ID replaces `<client-id>`, and you type its client secret when the command asks. Your Google Workspace account must be in the Developer Preview Program.

```
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http --client-id <client-id> --client-secret --callback-port 3119 google-chat https://chatmcp.googleapis.com/mcp/v1
```

## Sign in

Run /mcp in a Claude Code session and sign in with your Google Workspace account.
