## What you need

- The `semgrep` command, from [Semgrep](https://docs.semgrep.dev/docs/getting-started/quickstart).

## Connect

`/kotharo:setup` finds Semgrep and takes you through these steps. To connect it by hand:

Install Semgrep. [Its install page](https://docs.semgrep.dev/docs/getting-started/quickstart) covers other systems.

macOS:

uv tool install semgrep
```

Windows, in Git Bash:

powershell -c "[System.Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable('PYTHONUTF8', '1', 'User')"
uv tool install semgrep
```

Linux:

uv tool install semgrep
```

## Sign in

Nothing to sign in to for rules kept in the repo or Semgrep Registry rulesets. Run semgrep login only when the repo's rules need your Semgrep organization.
