Azure Boards

Connects Kotharo to Azure Boards for ticketing. All adapters

What you need

• An MCP server for Azure Boards, connected in Claude Code.
• The npx command, from Node.js, which brings npm and npx.
• The az command, from Azure CLI.

Connect

/kotharo:setup finds Azure Boards and takes you through these steps. To connect it by hand:

claude mcp add --scope user azure-devops -- npx -y @azure-devops/mcp <organization> -d core work-items repositories pipelines -a azcli

Install Node.js, which brings npm and npx. Its install page covers other systems.

macOS:

Sign in

<organization> is the organization's name from its dev.azure.com address, not the URL. Run az login with the work account in the organization's Microsoft Entra tenant; the server and the adapters use that login, never a personal access token.

To check you are signed in, run az account show.
